2024 Best Esports Channels in Live Streaming

PUBLICADO

em

2024 was another thrilling chapter for esports, rich with unforgettable moments. From jaw-dropping heroic plays to shocking upsets, the players delivered excitement across a wide range of games and platforms. This year wasn’t just about the competitions, it was also about the audiences and the growing diversity of co-streaming content creators that fueled the ecosystem.

One trend reshaping the landscape is the rise of community casters. These grassroots creators, who bring fresh perspectives and unique styles to broadcasts, are becoming an increasingly prominent feature in audience rankings. Interestingly, TikTok also made a splash this year: its top esports channel outperformed even the most-watched Twitch channel, signalling a shift in where fans are consuming their favorite content.

Presented data includes only live tournament statistics and does not account for reruns or rebroadcasts. All figures are accurate as of December 19, 2024. Some channels, such as those streaming Arena of Valor, are still actively broadcasting live content. We will provide updated numbers and a final report at the end of the year. It’s also important to note that the statistics derive from the Esports Charts database, so the data for channels may vary compared to Streams Charts statistics.

Once again, MPL channels dominate the leaderboards this year, just as they did in 2023, and it’s no coincidence. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports has continued its stellar run in 2024. While this year didn’t bring any global record-breaking moments at international tournaments, the game consistently captured massive audiences, with MPL leading the charge.

2024 Esports Channels Viewership Rankings

The hype around MPL reached new heights this year, particularly with Indonesia’s 14th season. This season not only smashed the series’ all-time viewership record but also became the most-watched non-international esports tournament ever. Unsurprisingly, the Indonesian MPL YouTube channel claimed the top spot, with several other MLBB-related channels also ranking highly. These channels saw extraordinary viewership throughout the year, especially during the record-breaking 14th season of Indonesia.

Top Esports Live Stream Channels 2024

A standout performer was MPL’s TikTok channel, which ranked among the year’s top three esports channels. Remarkably, it even outpaced all Twitch handles in live content viewership. This achievement highlights TikTok’s growing influence as a livestreaming platform in the esports industry, the trend that shows no signs of slowing down.

Mobile esports had another strong showing in this year’s rankings, with Garena Liên Quân Mobile earning a spot in the top 10. This channel is the home of Vietnamese streams for top Arena of Valor tournaments, including the wildly popular Arena of Glory. In 2024, Vietnamese viewers have been particularly engaged (not just in mobile esports), but Arena of Valor remains the undisputed champion in this space. What’s more, the channel is still streaming the Arena of Valor International Championship 2024, meaning its already impressive viewership numbers are expected to climb even higher by the end of the year.

Community casters are making waves in esports, and 2024 was another year for their rise. Topping the list of esports streamers this year was Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont, who cemented his reputation among English-speaking viewers by co-casting nearly every major League of Legends event, including the Mid-Season Invitational and Worlds. Close behind him in live viewership was Alexandre “Gaules” Borba Chiqueta, whose unique blend of studio-style broadcasts and community casting continues to dominate the Brazilian Counter-Strike scene.

Another standout performer was Gustavo “Baiano” Gomes, a fellow Brazilian who emerged as the face of League of Legends coverage in the region. Meanwhile, Ibai “Ibai” Llanos maintained his momentum as a regular co-caster for LoL events, further solidifying his place as a household name in esports streaming. Rounding out the top 10 was Tarik “tarik” Celik, who captivated audiences during Sentinels’ unforgettable victory at Masters Madrid

With the rise of co-casting, traditional broadcast studios are finding themselves in a tough spot. More and more viewers are turning to streamers for tournament coverage, drawn by their relaxed and informal style compared to the polished but formal approach of studios. Yet, one third-party studio defied the trend and secured a spot in the top 10: France’s OTP TV.

OTP TV has earned its place by consistently delivering extensive coverage of Riot Games titles. While their primary focus is on League of Legends, they’ve expanded into other games like Teamfight Tactics. This adaptability has paid off, allowing the studio to outperform industry heavyweights such as PGL, ESL, and BLAST. It’s a remarkable result for a studio proving that traditional production can still thrive by evolving alongside the changing esports landscape.

Best Twitch esports channels of 2024

Twitch continues to be the go-to platform for PC esports, especially among European and North American audiences. What sets Twitch apart from other platforms is the dominance of co-casters in its rankings rather than traditional studio or publisher channels. One standout name in the top 10 was Mark “ohnePixel” Zimmermann, a prominent figure in promoting Counter-Strike esports to Twitch’s English-speaking audience.

Two Russian-speaking Dota 2 channels also made waves in Twitch’s rankings this year. Leading the pack was Paragon Studio, which hosted broadcasts for nearly all the top Dota 2 tournaments in 2024, with The International being the only major exception. Closing out the top 10 was Aleksandr “Nix” Levin, Dota 2’s most popular co-caster. Impressively, Nix secured his spot in the rankings despite having stopped streaming esports content at the end of October.

Best YouTube esports channels of 2024

While Twitch remains the stronghold of PC esports, YouTube has solidified its position as the platform of choice for mobile gaming fans. Among the top 10 esports channels on YouTube this year, only four focus on PC games, with mobile titles dominating the rankings.

Top YouTube esports channels 2024

Leading the charge are Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Arena of Valor, both of which command enormous audiences on YouTube. Another standout in the mobile category is Krafton India Esports, which hosts tournaments for Battlegrounds Mobile India, a localized version of PUBG Mobile designed specifically for Indian audiences. Events like the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series consistently draw hundreds of thousands of live viewers.

The remaining top channels focus primarily on League of Legends esports. One area of significant growth this year has been Vietnam’s League of Legends scene, with two Vietnamese channels breaking into the top 10. This highlights the rapid rise of regional audiences contributing to the global esports ecosystem.

Best TIkTok Esports Channels of 2024

League of Legends and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang are ahead of other games when it comes to utilizing TikTok for live esports coverage. Together, these two games account for seven of the top ten channels in this year’s rankings.

Best TikTok esports channels 2024

Although TikTok is rapidly expanding as a platform for esports across various games, mobile titles are fully capitalizing on its potential right now. The rankings feature channels dedicated to Arena of Valor and PUBG Mobile, underscoring the dominance of mobile games on the TikTok.

What’s particularly notable is that the top-performing channels are largely tailored to diverse Asian audiences, highlighting TikTok’s strong foothold in the region’s esports scene.
