Eagles beat Cowboys in dominant fashion

Jalen Hurts had four total touchdowns and the defense forced five turnovers as the Philadelphia Eagles cruised to an easy 34-6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.

The win extends Philadelphia’s winning streak to five games and improves them to 7-2 on the season.

Jake Elliott hits another FG, Pickett replaces Hurts

Jake Elliott hit his second field goal of the game to give the Eagles a 34-6 lead over the Cowboys early in the fourth quarter. This time, it was from 38 yards.

Eagles backup quarterback Kenny Pickett also replaced Jalen Hurts, which means his night is over. Hurts scored two rushing touchdowns, including one on the “Brotherly Shove,” and tossed touchdowns to Dallas Goedert and Johnny Wilson. Hurts completed 14 of his 202 passing yards to go along with his touchdowns and turnovers.

Jake Elliott boots in FG, adding to Eagles lead

Jake Elliott drilled a 39-yard field goal to give the Eagles a 31-6 lead over the Cowboys early in the fourth quarter.

Elliott’s kick was set up by a strip sack from Bryce Huff. Zach Baun recovered the fumble.

The Cowboys will need a miracle to overcome the deficit in the fourth quarter, especially with third-string quarterback Trey Lance in the game now over Cooper Rush.

Bryce Huff forces strip sack

The Eagles appear to be running away with the game against Dallas as the defense forced their third turnover of the day with a substantial lead.

Bryce Huff, Philadelphia’s big free agent signing, strip-sacked Cooper Rush and Zach Baun, who forced a fumble earlier, recovered the ball.

The Eagles now takeover deep into Dallas territory.

Jalen Hurts scores second rushing TD to add on to Eagles lead

Jalen Hurts scored his second rushing touchdown of the game to give the Eagles a comfortable 28-6 lead over the Cowboys late in the third quarter.

The score is Hurts’ fourth total touchdown of the game. He has two rushing and two passing.

As long as the Eagles hold on, which is looking likely, they’ll improve to 7-2 and extend their winning streak to five games.

Johnny Wilson scores first career TD, Eagles lead 21-6

Rookie wide receiver Johnny Wilson scored his first career touchdown in the third quarter on a 5-yard pass from Jalen Hurts to give the Eagles a 21-6 lead over the Cowboys.

Wilson was drafted by the Birds out of Florida State in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft, and he wasn’t the only Eagles rookie to come up big.

Eagles rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean set up the touchdown with a 31-yard punt return that gave Philly outstanding field position at the Cowboys’ 37-yard line.

Saquon Barkley returns to start second half

After missing Philadelphia’s scoring drive at the end of the first half, Saquon Barkley returned in the third quarter. Barkley was getting looked at by trainers after appearing to injure his forearm or hand after Jalen Hurts fumbled in the second quarter.

The team hasn’t said anything about Barkley’s health status.

Barkley carried the ball once on the drive, but the Eagles went three-and-out.

Eagles lead Cowboys at halftime, Hurts ends half strong

The Philadelphia Eagles lead the Dallas Cowboys, 14-6, at halftime after an up-and-down first half from Jalen Hurts and the rest of the offense.

Hurts ended the half on a strong drive and connected with tight end Dallas Goedert on a 14-yard touchdown pass. Hurts has completed 11 of his 13 passes for 152 yards and the Goedert touchdown. He’s also rushed for 49 yards on five carries and scored one rushing touchdown.

Hurts has committed his first two turnovers in weeks. He was intercepted by Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs and fumbled in the second quarter. He was also sacked five times in the first half.

Saquon Barkley didn’t finish the half and was getting looked at on the sideline by trainers after appearing to possibly injure his hand or forearm after Hurts’ fumble. At halftime, Barkley has six carries for 23 yards.

A.J. Brown leads the Eagles in receiving with four catches for 65 yards.

While the Eagles’ offense has been up and down, the team’s defense has been outstanding, albeit against Cooper Rush. The Eagles’ defense has forced two turnovers, including one in the red zone.

Eagles linebacker Zach Baun forced a fumble on Ezekiel Elliott on a carry on Philadelphia’s 6-yard-line, and rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean recovered the ball midway through the second quarter. In the first quarter, Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams recovered a fumble after Cowboys backup quarterback Cooper Rush botched a snap.

The Eagles will get the ball back to start the second half.

Dallas boots in FG after Hurts fumble

Brandon Aubrey hit his second field goal of the game to make it 7-6 late in the second quarter after Jalen Hurts fumbled.

Hurts fumbled on the second play last series, his second turnover of the game, to set up Dallas’ score.

The Eagles’ defense is keeping them in the game thus far as Hurts and Philadelphia’s offense haven’t been able to put points on the board.

Baun forces fumble, Eagles recovery

The Cowboys were poised to take the lead, but they ended a 13-play drive by turning the ball over deep into Eagles territory.

Eagles linebacker Zach Baun forced a fumble on Ezekiel Elliott on a carry on Philadelphia’s 6-yard-line, and rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean recovered the ball.

The Eagles will take over with just over three minutes left in the half.

Eagles drive ends after Hurts takes 2 sacks

Another drive with some momentum stalled out after Jalen Hurts was sacked twice and ended the drive.

Hurts was sacked by DeMarvion Overshown and Micah Parsons on consecutive plays, which ended Philadelphia’s drive. So far, Hurts has been sacked four times.

Luckily for the Eagles, Dallas hasn’t been able to get anything going on offense. The Cowboys have 40 total yards and two first downs.

Hurts throws first interception since Saints game

The Eagles were positioned to take a commanding two-score lead, however, Jalen Hurts threw his first interception since Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.

On Dallas’ 12-yard line, Hurts targeted Dallas Goedert in the end zone, but he was intercepted by Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs.

Fortunately for the Eagles, the Cowboys went three-and-out. That interception is Hurts’ only incompletion of the game as of this writing.

Cowboys boot in FG, Slay questionable to return

Brandon Aubrey hit a 46-yard field goal to make it a 7-3 game with 3:10 left in the first quarter.

Earlier in the first quarter, Eagles cornerback Darius Slay exited the game. He’s questionable to return with an ankle injury. Slay missed last week’s win over the Jaguars with a groin injury.

Isaiah Rodgers will fill in for Slay alongside rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell.

The Cowboys will likely test Rodgers with CeeDee Lamb on the outside if Slay can’t return.

Hurts scores on “Brotherly Shove,” take 7-0 lead

Jalen Hurts scored on a “Brotherly Shove” to give the Eagles the lead over the Cowboys. Jake Elliott booted in the extra point to make it 7-0 with 7:05 left in the first quarter.

Hurts’ touchdown was set up by a 12-yard catch by Saquon Barkley to the 1-yard line.

Milton Williams also gets some credit here. The Eagles took advantage of Williams’ fumble recovery in the previous series, which led to the score.

Eagles get lucky, Milton Williams recovers fumble

Right after the Eagles punted, Philadelphia got back possession after defensive tackle Milton Williams recovered a fumble.

Williams fell on the ball after Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush botched the snap. The Eagles will take over at the Cowboys’ 17-yard line.

Eagles’ drive stalls on first possession

The Eagles appeared to be driving down the field without any issues, but some self-inflicted wounds led them to give the ball back to the Cowboys.

Philadelphia had first-and-10 at Dallas’ 43-yard-line, but a series of ugly plays led to them punting. Backup left tackle Fred Johnson, who’s filling in for injured Jordan Mailata, got called for a false start. Then, Jalen Hurts got sacked for a loss of 13 yards after running back Kenny Gainwell didn’t pick up a blitz by DeMarvion Overshown.

Braden Mann punted the ball 55 yards to the end zone, and Dallas will now take over possession midway through the first quarter.
