Vice President Kamala Harris, after her presidential bid ended in defeat, has headed for a brief vacation in Hawaii. Harris arrived in Hawaii on Tuesday evening with her husband Doug Emhoff for a nearly weeklong stay, according to reports.

Details of the Trip and FAA Restrictions

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has imposed temporary flight restrictions for “VIP Movement” starting from 7:15 p.m. Tuesday through to noon on Monday, covering Kona and Waimea regions. These restrictions are typically put in place to ensure the security of high-profile individuals.

Kamala Harris Role and Senate Involvement

Despite her trip, Harris has remained on standby to fulfill her constitutional duties as President of the Senate. She retains the power to cast a tie-breaking vote, which could prove crucial, especially for judicial confirmations. Reports from NBC News revealed that Harris delayed her trip to be available if her vote was needed to confirm judges in a final attempt to challenge President-elect Donald Trump.

Hawaii’s Voting Results and Kamala Harris’ Win

In the November 5 General Election, Harris won Hawaii’s four electoral votes. She secured 60.6% of the total vote in the state, compared to 37.5% for Donald Trump.

A Ufac lançou a revista online “Avanços que Deixam Legado para o Futuro: 2018-2026” (124 p.). A publicação marca o encerramento da gestão da professora Guida Aquino à frente da Reitoria e reúne, em formato interativo, com dez capítulos, o balanço das principais conquistas e ações desenvolvidas pela administração superior nos últimos oito anos. O evento ocorreu nessa quinta-feira, 6, no Órgão dos Colegiados Superiores, campus-sede.

A revista serve como um registro de prestação de contas e memória institucional. O lançamento reuniu a equipe que esteve ao lado da gestão nesse período, num momento de agradecimento e celebração pelo trabalho realizado. “Agradeço o apoio e a colaboração de todos”, disse Guida.

A Ufac realizou a solenidade de registro da fase final das obras de construção do novo prédio do Colégio de Aplicação (CAp). O evento ocorreu nesta sexta-feira, 7, no campus-sede, marcando a entrega parcial do complexo educacional, que já atinge 90% de execução física. O projeto de transferência do colégio para o campus universitário foi priorizado em 2022 pela Reitoria.

A estrutura foi concebida para atender às exigências da educação básica, contando com salas de aula, refeitório, auditório, parque aquático, laboratórios de informática e pontos de acesso à internet com tecnologia wi-fi 7. Os recursos financeiros foram viabilizados por meio de emendas parlamentares do Orçamento Geral da União.

“Essa obra representa mais do que tijolos e concreto; é a realização de um compromisso com a qualidade da educação básica e com o futuro das nossas crianças no Acre”, disse a reitora Guida Aquino. Ela informou que o antigo prédio do colégio, localizado no centro da capital e tombado como patrimônio histórico da instituição, passará por revitalização para abrigar o Palácio da Cultura da Ufac.

A vice-reitora eleita, Almecina Balbino, reafirmou a continuidade dos projetos de expansão da infraestrutura da instituição. “Eu estarei sempre à disposição, de portas abertas, para seguir os mesmos passos que a professora Guida deixou.”

O diretor do CAp, Ceilton França, enfatizou a adequação do projeto arquitetônico às necessidades da educação básica. “Para nós o sonho já está acontecendo. Quando enxergamos que a construção existe, é uma construção adequada à nossa realidade da educação básica.”

A vice-diretora do CAp, Alessandra Perez Lima, destacou a relevância do novo espaço para a rotina pedagógica e acadêmica. “Muito em breve vamos deixar de ser nômades e teremos o nosso lugar. Eu olho para cada espaço aqui e já vejo essas crianças correndo e sendo felizes.”

Também participaram da cerimônia o pró-reitor de Planejamento, Alexandre Rid; o pró-reitor de Administração, Marcelo Cruz; o prefeito do campus, Artesson Cruz; além de professores, técnico-administrativos, estudantes e representantes da construtora responsável pela obra.

A reitora da Ufac, Guida Aquino, visitou, nesta quinta-feira, 6, a fase final da obra da passarela do curso de Medicina Veterinária, no campus-sede. A estrutura liga a Clínica de Medicina Veterinária ao Núcleo de Registro e Controle Acadêmico (Nurca) e deve ser entregue em duas semanas.

Segundo Guida, a construção da passarela atende a uma antiga reivindicação dos estudantes e integra os compromissos assumidos pela gestão. “Em breve estará pronta, em torno de duas semanas, e esse será mais um legado da nossa gestão”, afirmou. A reitora também agradeceu à equipe pelo trabalho, dedicação e compromisso ao longo dos últimos oito anos.

Além da passarela de Medicina Veterinária, a obra do novo Colégio de Aplicação da Ufac também está em fase de conclusão e deve ser entregue em breve.
Participaram da visita pró-reitores e membros da administração superior da Ufac.
